![]() You can get Siri EyesFree and 4G LTE Wi-Fi, but not Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. A wind blocker, heated seats, and heated steering wheel keep the cabin comfortable top up or down.Ĭascada's German roots reveal themselves again in the ridiculously buttoned center controls, but the group commands navigation, radio, and smartphones via Bluetooth and USB inputs. It's like "Transformers" changing form down the road - always a crowd pleaser. One button retracts it and the windows in 17 seconds at speeds up to 31 mph. And, who needs a hard top? The tightly snugged soft canvas on the Cascada is muy elegante.īut, when it's 75 and sunny in January, you don't look at the top long. For Buick duty, the canvas top is more thickly layered to keep the cabin insulated from noise and temperature. That gives it genuine German overtones that should play well with the car's intended audience. Truth is the Cascada is a slightly Buick-ized version of the European Opel Cascada. There's not a porthole, sweepspear, or toothy grille, but it still says "Buick". Buyers can select 6 colors - all looking like they came from a fashion runway (think silvers and blacks), though a big red or blue would be nice. ![]() ![]() Look a little closer to notice elegant chrome around the windowline and bodysides that are truly sculpted with positive and negative curvature along the main crease and lower sill. It's a sassy little Buick, flaunting the brand's new winged grille, crisp lighting elements, and 20-inch wheels - two styles available. Flip the top and all the scenery changes. That's kinda what it's like to leave Indiana in January and land in Key West, especially when I'm there to drive the first-ever Buick Cascada convertible. Hope this info helps you choose the right bulbs for your vehicle. There's a scene in the movie "Pleasantville" where Tobey Maguire's character is driving a 1952 Buick Roadmaster convertible, arm around his babe, when all the colors change from black and white to color. ![]() I do want to warn you that the SL1 needs 5 Volts DC minimum to operate, just keep this in mind, not sure if the the voltage supplied by the DRL module will be sufficient. It is important to check the specs and dimensions to make sure you're buying the right ones that fit your needs and budget.Ī couple of bulbs that I found that work and have exceptional optical focus are the SL1 from Diode Dynamics and the 2stroke 2.0 from Morimoto, the heat dissipation device on both brands are small enough to clear the tight clearances and work quite well, they're not giving them away but this will be a good starting point to compare. Another thing to consider is that the bulbs for the low beams are in an awkward position, they are sideways in the reflector bowl (you're probably aware of this already), so finding LED bulbs that clear the housing cover is sometimes challenging (especially those that have huge fans).įor the low beams: You definitely want to get good quality LEDs that can withstand extreme heat since it won't be able to dissipate heat as good in a enclosed housing and you also want good quality LEDs that are able to work with Low Voltage for Hi beams in DRL mode. That being said, you want to get LEDs that are able to work with that low voltage. When the DRL are active 4.5 - 4.9 or so Volts DC are delivered to the high beams, but not sure if the voltage is pulsating since my LEDs do tend to flicker if I pay enough attention but I was not able to confirm this since I don't have an oscilloscope (maybe someone will be able to confirm this) but for the most part is almost unnoticeable. You will want to get LEDs that do work for DRL. They don't have bulb out monitoring system. With my limited knowledge and testing, along with personal experience you do not need decoders for either lights.
